Farm visits

This term in Geography we have been looking at what drought is and how it is affecting the farmers and the environment around us.  Last month we visited the MACC farm and listened to Mrs Caines talk about how the drought is impacting on the schools farm and all farmers affected by the drought,  with them only able to get small amounts of food for the same number of cattle, meaning skinnier, less profitable animals.

Yesterday we visited the farm again to watch the sheep sheering and look more at how the school is impacted by the drought.  We learnt that the Mount Annan and Camden areas are in intense drought according to the NSW drought indicator and we will continue to discuss ways in which we can assist the farmers in our local area and Australia.
